Strike Three — He’s Out
A bank robber in Port Royal, Va., had just one problem once he successfully obtained his loot: getting away. As he ran out the door, he left a trail of $100 bills that he didn’t quite get stuffed into his pockets. When he got to his car, he discovered that he had locked his keys inside. Two men from an auto repair shop saw him trying to smash through the car’s window and went after him; during the chase, the man tried to shoot his pursuers but missed, hitting himself in the leg instead. Edward Butler Blaine, 61, was arrested and charged with robbery and two counts of attempted homicide. Blaine previously spent 20 years in federal prison — for bank robbery. (Fredericksburg Free Lance-Star) ...Which just goes to show prison isn’t quite the criminal boot camp people think.
