Make a Run for the Border
A police officer in Brea, Calif., went “above and beyond the call of duty” to obtain a DNA sample from a suspected rapist. Officer Susan Hanna went out to lunch with Robert William Bradford Jr. at a Taco Bell. When she got him a refill of his drink, she handed his drinking straw to an undercover officer. The DNA on the straw matched crime scene evidence, and Bradford was arrested. He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to two life terms plus 52 years. (San Francisco Chronicle) ...Which is the usual sentence for taking a woman to Taco Bell on a first date.
