document.write(" Who’s Calling? The Utah state prison system has decided to end its prisoner phone soliciting program where inmates were hired as telemarketers. They were often given personal information by the people they talked to, but the prisoners were not required to identify themselves. Personal information was sometimes shared with other prisoners, including sex offenders, and at least one prisoner has been caught sending “flirtatious letters” to teen-aged girls. The inmates made calls for businesses such as SandStar Family Entertainment, and answered phones for some state agencies, including the Utah Department of Commerce and the Utah Travel Council. The program was similar to those in place in other states. (AP) \n")
